Anime Quote:

"There's no such thing as a painless lesson-they just don't exist. Sacrifices are necessary. You can't gain anything without losing something first. Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you'll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle. Yeah... a heart made Fullmetal." - Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Anime I Watched In March (2015)

I will be posting every month what Anime I watched.
This will not include, Movies or OVA's, just Series.

Kimi ni Todoke (4 ½ Stars)

Durarara!! (4 ½ Stars)

Gosick (4 ½ Stars)

Tokyo Ghoul √A (4 Stars)

Highschool of the Dead (4 Stars)

Aldnoah.Zero  (4 ½ Stars)

I watched less this month, as I had so much other stuff to do and work on. But still watching 6 Anime is pretty good. The majority of these  Anime were amazing and really good, but then there was one that turned into a disappointment and one Anime that took me out of my comfort zone. The Anime I recommend for people to watch is Gosick, if you like Mystery, Sherlock Holmes and Detectives.

See you next month :)

First reaction to Tokyo Ghoul √A Episode 1

CAUTION - ONLY READ THIS IF YOU HAVE WATCHED THE FIRST SEASON OF TOKYO GHOUL and THE FIRST EP OF SEASON 2!

I was so happy when I knew there would be a season 2 of Tokyo Ghoul and was even happier when I started watching ep 1 and having it continue straight from season 1, so there was no 1 year break or two month break, it was 1 second break :)

There was no break from action, from pretty much the get go, there was fighting, arguments, twists and turns and blood.

The opening song isnt as good as the season 1 opening song but not everyone will be happy with all OP or ED. The ending song is better than the season 1 ending but still not the best I've heard from Anime.

Overall I am really happy with this first ep and I can't wait to watch the rest of the season.

Out of 10 stars, the first ep gets a grand total of 9 1/2 :D

Review of Tokyo Ghoul

I was kind of scared to start this series as I knew it had gore and it was horror... And those two put together isn't normally my cup of tea, but I heard loads of good things about this Anime, so I thought I would venture into the unknown.

The storyline took a while to get into because of those two things that I said, but I got used to it, it's strange to say but this Anime has most certainly helped me expand my horizons on Anime and what I can and cannot stand.

The Animation was really good although there was times when I was a little confused... on why they were animating it this way.

The Sound was amazing, and the opening OP although I didn't like at first, grew on me... damn you Tokyo Ghoul.
The characters were nearly perfect, even the evil ones. I really loved how they were placed and used in this Anime, although one character should have had more screen time. I have to admit that I felt really sorry for Kaneki and the situation that was dumped onto him.

Overall I really loved this season and can’t wait for the second season that is to come out, really soon.(Jan 2015)

Final Rating:

Story- 9/10
Animation- 9.5/10
Sound- 10/10
Characters- 9.5/10
Overall- 9/10

Anime Recommendation #5: If you like Psycho-Pass you might like...

If you liked Psycho-Pass:

In the future, a system called Sibyl presides over the country and provides order to every facet of life. It dictates which job fields citizens should go into based on aptitude tests, and can even read each resident's mental state and predict which ones are likely to commit crimes in the future. Fresh from exams, Akane Tsunemori is beginning her career as an Inspector, a specialized police officer who works to apprehend these latent criminals and stop crimes before they happen. But not all that get caught are eliminated or jailed, some join the police force as Enforcers to provide insight into criminals’ minds, and Akane is warned not to get too close to them, as they're considered little more than hunting dogs. Though skeptical of this advice, and Sibyl's judgement, Akane is determined to work together with her Enforcers to protect the peace of her city and its inhabitants.

You might like Tokyo Ghoul:

The suspense horror/dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious "ghouls" who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.

Reasons/Similarities:
  • Dark and Twisted
  • Cruel Reality
  • Gore
  • Violence
  • Times to laugh, even though its normally dark
  • Main characters you cant help but love.
  • Unique Storylines (In my opinion)
